EPC Community Outreach

|
OVERVIEW |
| The
Emergency Preparedness Center
of the CyberSecurity and Emergency Preparedness Institute (CSEPI-EPC) created its
COMMUNITY OUTREACH program to promote the use of integration of planning
activities for emergency preparedness and response systems across the emergency
response teams, governmental agencies, and industrial facilities.
The Objectives of the
CSEPI-EPC COMMUNITY OUTREACH Program are
1) to expand the E-Plan
Hazmat
Emergency Response System
beyond EPA Region 6 to nationwide and
2) to garner formal endorsements from public officials,
trade, and professional associations and individual industries and/or companies
for continuing on the research and development of E-Plan and other Homeland
Security issues related to Emergency Preparedness and Response.

|
GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE |
| The original geographic scope of
E-Plan was focused to the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 (Arkansas, Louisiana,
Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas). In the last 5 years, UT Dallas Emergency
Preparedness Center teamed with DHS and EPA have made
significant progress in bringing E-Plan to Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisiana,
Ohio, Minnesota, Georgia, North Carolina, New York, Alabama, Mississippi,
Missouri, and so on. By adding EPA's Risk Management Plans (RMP's) to the
E-Plan database, E-Plan now has 50-state, District of Columbia, and four
U.S. Territories coverage with Tier II data and RMP's. |
